This year my focus is the continuing exploration of relationships on the canvas: colour, form and mark making. Intuitive and spontaneous gestural brushwork underpins these experimental ways of working. My intention is to bring to light my life experiences and subconscious feelings and beliefs in an abstract way that is unplanned yet responsive to these underlying emotions and memories. The numinous, and the transitional space between the inner and outer worlds continues to be part of my exploration.
I am working with larger format paintings as this gives me more space to create in a less restricted manner and offers a great deal of freedom in my practice.
