Crazy weather lately, with summer storms every afternoon. This afternoon the storm passed out to sea, after giving us some very heavy rain(yet again!). Took these pics just after. The hydrangeas look great at the moment, and the passionfruit vine is going crazy with fruit. Luckily no roof leak…the roofing guy replaced a tile just before the storm arrived!
Here in sub tropical Australia we have wonderful winter days….mostly fine and with blue skies…morning temps a bit cool, but generally a great time of year. I’m just sharing with you a couple of pics; flowering grevilleas in the backyard, and our art/companion dog Jasper strolling in the nasturtiums. Happy!
I’ve added another work, “Storm surge”, to my “Remembrance” page in the Gallery section. Maybe take a peek.
My little garden is showing some progress, even though the weather is cool. The flowers and herbs are enjoying it even if growth is a lot slower. I’ve had to protect the parsley and lettuce with pot covers at night due to some sort of marauder; not exactly sure what it is! But this strategy has worked fairly well. So it’s all progressing along nicely and I’m picking lettuce leaves, rocket, basil and parsley to use in cooking so I’m very happy with that. The marigolds, violas and pansies seem happy and healthy and are flowering brightly. Getting a lot of joy from this small garden, and working simply and quietly in it. Here’s a few pics, including one weird photo of the pots covering plants before evening sets in.
Here’s a few more pics from Underwater world and the beach at Mooloolaba. It was a lovely day out yesterday. The weather was perfect and cooler now, after a hot summer …so nice. The otters were resting in the sun, and the crocodile resting in his (fake) watercourse. It always concerns me when I see larger wild animals and mammals in restricted environments. How does this affect them emotionally, physically and mentally?…I’m sure it does even though many people would not recognise this as an issue. It’s wonderful to see animals we aren’t familiar with in zoos, and often there are great breeding programs. Still, it causes me to think on these issues….anyway, the beach was beautiful!
