California Design Show new at QAG

California Design 1930-1965 Living in a modern way, has recently opened at QAG, (the Queensland Art Gallery) in Brisbane. This is a broad expose showcasing design in California from 1930 to 1965. It’s a revelation to see where our contemporary influences in architecture, furniture,  home wares, pottery and even clothing, began its evolution. So much we enjoy today comes from that era, and the quality that is displayed is of the highest level.

Highlights are the Barbie doll and her beautiful house…a simple studio style apartment…fabulous Eames furniture, and other accessories such as “atomic” styled jewellery pieces.

California Design at QAG is not to be missed!
